Grant-Funded Opportunities for Faculty 2025 - 2026

Funds available according to federal and California regulations as outlined in California Education Code Article 4 of Section 78050-78052

Convert Course to ZTC 

  • Convert one SRJC course from a traditional textbook/resources to zero cost to students
  • Not all courses are eligible for these grant funds. Eligibility List: https://tinyurl.com/SRJC-ZTC-Eligible
  • Each award is 25 hours base rate of pay
  • Instructor is required to meet specific benchmarks including ZTC course tagging in the schedule of courses
  • Good faith commitment to continue towards ZTC in this course for 3 years
  • Each instructor may be eligible to convert up to three eligible courses
  • Available until funds are exhausted; or by December 2026 which ever is first

Update Current-ZTC Course 

  • Update one ZTC-tagged course materials or assignments
  • Not all courses are eligible for these grant funds. Eligibility List: https://tinyurl.com/SRJC-ZTC-Eligible
  • Each award is 25 hours base rate of pay
  • Good faith commitment to continue towards ZTC in this course for 3 years
  • Instructors may be eligible to convert up to three eligible courses in total
  • Some materials are required to be sharable with Cool4Ed CCC repository
  • Available until funds are exhausted; or by December 2026 which ever is first

Author an Openly-licensed OER 

  • To avoid duplicative work within California Community Colleges, ZTC grant requires that the course must be offered at SRJC and be identified as a gap in the field by ASCCC OERI
  • Check to see if there is a need for OER authorship, as listed on Identified Gaps ASCCC OERI
  • Each award is 60 hours base rate of pay
  • OER must be licensed with an open Creative Commons License
  • According to grant requirements, OER must be licensed with an open Creative Commons License https://creativecommons.org/share-your-work/cclicenses/
  • Grant requires material to be sharable with Cool4Ed CCC repository https://www.cool4ed.org/
  • Instructors are only eligible for one authorship grant for 2025 - 2026
  • According to the BOG Procedures and Standing Orders, section 318 (g), “Any published materials produced under an agreement or sub-agreement using public funds must be subject to a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).”

Professional Development Exploring Online Educational Resources

  • Open to all courses taught through Santa Rosa Junior College
  • Goal is to support faculty through exploration of free resources for students
  • Each award is 15 hours base rate of pay
  • Faculty can suggest doing coursework or presenting professional development opportunities
  • Coursework are awarded a maximum of 15 hours
  • Presentations are awarded a total of 3 hours (2 hours preparation + 1 hour presentation)
